'Material Fact'

A Material Fact or material information is any fact which would influence the insurer in accepting or declining a risk or in fixing the premium or terms and conditions of the contract. All insurance policies rely upon the doctrine of Upmost Good Faith and so all material facts or material information must be fully disclosed by the insured to the insurer and visa versa.
